The Refugee Hub<\/a> and the Human Rights Research and Education Centre<\/a> (HRREC) at the University of Ottawa are launching a workshop series for junior scholars researching in areas related to forced displacement. We are pleased to invite submissions from interested participants. The workshop will begin as a virtual event, in late January 2021, and recur monthly. We intend to select a core group of junior scholars who will participate each month. Each session of the workshop will feature a presenter, from the group, whose in-progress work will be circulated in advance. One designated commentator will be tasked with providing remarks on the paper before having an open discussion. Each session will last for approximately 90 minutes.<\/p>\n The workshop series is intended to provide a forum where junior scholars, with complementary research interests, can build a community with colleagues from around the world, share their ideas, and strengthen their writing through an informal collaborative process.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The workshop series is intended for junior scholars working in the area of forced displacement in any discipline. Applications are encouraged from all junior scholars. This includes SJD\/PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, lecturers, teaching fellows, and assistant professors (pre-tenure).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Applications are welcomed from any junior scholar who is interested in joining the group and who will be able to present an in-progress work over the next year. Presented work should be unpublished but sufficiently developed to sustain a discussion. To apply please send a copy of your CV, a brief blurb about your research focus, and an abstract (400 words) for a potential paper that you would like to present. This may be a stand-alone article or a dissertation chapter. Topics can range and come from any discipline that relates to the issue of forced displacement. We are aiming to form a group of approximately 15 regular participants. Les candidatures de tous les jeunes chercheurs sont encourag\u00e9es. Cela comprend les candidats au doctorat ou \u00e0 la th\u00e8se de doctorat, les chercheurs postdoctoraux, les enseignants, les charg\u00e9s d\u2019enseignement et les professeurs assistants (avant leur titularisation).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Les candidatures de tout jeune chercheur int\u00e9ress\u00e9 \u00e0 rejoindre le groupe et qui sera en mesure de pr\u00e9senter un travail en cours au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e prochaine sont les bienvenues.
