style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 2 October 2019, Khoti Kamanga, co-founder of the Centre for the Study of Forced Migration at the University of Dar es Salaam, and Co-Applicant for LERRN, published an op-ed in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Citizen, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one of Tanzania\u2019s leading English-language newspapers, reflecting on the 50th anniversary of the 1969 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the piece, he highlights that \u201cthe adoption of the Convention appears to have accomplished little in reducing the problem.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khoti suggests that the Convention\u2019s anniversary should be \u201can opportunity to reconsider the long overdue issue of review both of the Refugees Act, 1998 along with the National Refugee Policy, 2003, along with the adoption of Regulations to the Refugees Act.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
