Participation au colloque RISE 2022 – Universit\u00e9 Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Deuxi\u00e8me colloque annuel organis\u00e9 par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth et NODE-Network of Organizational Development Expert, lundi 28 et mardi 29 novembre 2022<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dans le cadre de la 2\u00e8me \u00e9dition du colloque RISE 2022<\/a> tenu \u00e0 l\u2019USJ le 28 et le 29 novembre 2022, sur le th\u00e8me \u00ab Organization Development as Explicit or Implicit Practice \u00bb,<\/em> la Chaire de recherche sur les d\u00e9placements forc\u00e9s au Moyen-Orient a particip\u00e9, le 29 novembre 2022, \u00e0 un atelier de d\u00e9veloppement professionnel organis\u00e9 par l\u2019\u00c9cole libanaise de formation sociale.<\/p>\n

L\u2019atelier en question a port\u00e9 sur une r\u00e9flexion critique sur l\u2019implication de la recherche dans les questions sociales et soci\u00e9tales. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 anim\u00e9 par la titulaire de la Chaire Pr. Houwayda Matta Bou Ramia et M. Fady Moujaess, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019association Arc en ciel.<\/p>\n

Dans ce cadre, trois communications ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9es autour des projets \u00e0 mener par la Chaire de recherche sur les d\u00e9placements forc\u00e9s entre novembre 2022 et juillet 2023 et dans lesquels des \u00e9tudiantes de Master et de Doctorat en Travail social sont impliqu\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

La premi\u00e8re a port\u00e9 sur une recherche exploratoire participative autour de la migration ill\u00e9gale au Liban-Nord comme acte d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 de fuite d’une vie d\u00e9munie par la voie p\u00e9rilleuse des routes maritimes. Dr. Amal Damien, enseignante-chercheuse de l\u2019ELFS, qui assure la coordination terrain de ce projet s\u2019est charg\u00e9e de partager avec le public la probl\u00e9matique et le devis m\u00e9thodologique pr\u00e9vu pour cette recherche.<\/p>\n

Dans la deuxi\u00e8me communication, Mesdames Riwa Baltagi et Maya Karam, \u00e9tudiantes au Master en Travail social ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 leurs sujets de m\u00e9moire qui s\u2019ins\u00e8rent dans les travaux de la Chaire et qui prennent pour sujets d\u2019\u00e9tude deux dimensions de vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s appartenant \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 LGBTIQ au Liban: 1- Les besoins et les probl\u00e8mes confront\u00e9s par les individus concern\u00e9s ; 2- La violence v\u00e9cue au sein m\u00eame de la communaut\u00e9 en question.<\/p>\n

En dernier lieu, Mme Manal Ramadan, doctorante en travail social a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 son projet de th\u00e8se centr\u00e9 sur le processus de prise de d\u00e9cision des femmes syriennes chefs de famille quant au retour volontaire dans leur pays d\u2019origine.<\/p>\n

La discussion ouverte avec le public, engag\u00e9e \u00e0 partir des sujets propos\u00e9s, soul\u00e8ve des pr\u00e9occupations de diff\u00e9rents ordres. Certains membres de l\u2019auditoire soul\u00e8vent la question de la contribution des projets de recherche \u00e0 entreprendre par la Chaire dans l\u2019influence des politiques publiques, des politiques d\u2019action des organismes nationaux et internationaux ainsi que des pratiques professionnelles adress\u00e9es aux populations r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es sur le territoire libanais. D\u2019autres soulignent l\u2019importance de la gestion du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de refuge au Liban, notamment celui de la population syrienne d\u00e9plac\u00e9e de force en tenant compte de la crise \u00e9conomique aigue qui s\u00e9vit dans le pays et qui devient \u00e0 son tour un facteur de d\u00e9placement de masse touchant \u00e9galement les \u00a0\u00a0citoyens libanais. En somme, un accent particulier a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis sur la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une approche globale impliquant les diff\u00e9rents acteurs dans l\u2019\u00e9laboration d\u2019un plan de gestion de cette probl\u00e9matique au Liban \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re des contraintes et des ressources limit\u00e9es du pays.<\/p>\n\n

<\/a>Participation in the RISE 2022 Conference<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Second Annual Colloquium organized by Saint Joseph University of Beirut and NODE-Network of Organizational Development Expert, Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 November 2022<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As part of the 2nd edition of the RISE 2022 Colloquium<\/a> held at the USJ on November 28 and 29, 2022, on the theme “Organization Development as Explicit or Implicit Practice”, the Research Chair on Forced Displacement in the Middle East participated, on November 29, 2022, in a professional development workshop organized by the Lebanese School of Social Training.<\/p>\n

The workshop focused on critical reflection on the involvement of research in social and societal issues. It was moderated by the holder of the Chair Pr. Houwayda Matta Bou Ramia and Mr. Fady Moujaess, Director General of the association Arc en ciel.<\/p>\n

Within this framework, three communications were made about the projects to be conducted by the Chair of research on forced displacement between November 2022 and July 2023 and in which students of Master and Doctorate in Social Work are involved.<\/p>\n

The first one focused on a participatory exploratory research around illegal migration in North Lebanon as a desperate act of escape from a destitute life through the perilous route of maritime routes. Dr. Amal Damien, a teacher-researcher at ELFS, who is in charge of the field coordination of this project, shared with the audience the problematic and the methodological specifications of this research.<\/p>\n

In the second presentation, Ms. Riwa Baltagi and Ms. Maya Karam, students of the Master in Social Work, presented their dissertation topics which are part of the work of the Chair and which take as subjects of study two dimensions of vulnerability of refugees belonging to the LGBTIQ community in Lebanon: 1- The needs and problems faced by the individuals concerned; 2- The violence experienced within the community in question
\nLastly, Ms. Manal Ramadan, a doctoral student in social work presented her thesis project focused on the decision-making process of Syrian women heads of households regarding voluntary return to their country of origin.<\/p>\n

The open discussion with the audience, based on the proposed topics, raised various concerns. Some members of the audience raised the question of the contribution of the research projects to be undertaken by the Chair in influencing public policies, the action policies of national and international organizations as well as professional practices addressed to refugee populations on the Lebanese territory. Others underline the importance of managing the refugee phenomenon in Lebanon, especially that of the forcibly displaced Syrian population, taking into account the acute economic crisis that is raging in the country and that is in turn becoming a factor of mass displacement also affecting Lebanese citizens. In sum, special emphasis was placed on the need for a comprehensive approach involving the various actors in the development of a plan to manage this issue in Lebanon in light of the constraints and limited resources of the country.<\/p>\n\n
