The establishment of these research chairs illustrates the IDRC approach to localize knowledge production.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge localization is an essential element to address the scale and complexity of forced displacement. The <a href=\"https:\/\/unhcr.org\/us\/about-unhcr\/who-we-are\/figures-glance\">UNHCR reports<\/a> that the number of forcibly displaced people \u2014 including refugees, internally displaced, stateless, economic and climate-change migrants \u2014 has doubled in a decade.
