The Institute organizes training courses in the fields of international humanitarian law, human rights, refugee law, and related issues and promotes dialogue by organizing international conferences, meetings, and seminars of high-level government officials, scholars, and practitioners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \">The mission of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iihl.org\/international-refugee-law-and-migration-law\/\" data-cmp-ab=\"2\">Department of International Refugee Law and Migration Law<\/a>\u00a0is to enhance the knowledge and skills of government officials, international organizations, civil society representatives, and academics involved in working with individuals in need of protection, including refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), stateless individuals, and migrants. Through its capacity-building initiatives and the exchange of experiences, the Department advocates for preserving human rights, thus complementing and augmenting the efforts of various stakeholders in the protection field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 vc_custom_1724062909069\">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \">The Institute enjoys a consultative status at ECOSOC, a participatory status at the Council of Europe, and observer status at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ExCom, and with the International Organization for Migration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default font-weight-bold\"><u>Purpose of the role<\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \">By closely working with Course Coordinators, the Project Assistant (Learning Assistant) will provide overall support in planning, organizing, and carrying out courses and initiatives implemented by the Department. The Project Assistant is responsible for collecting data\/research, graphic designing, preparing PowerPoint presentations, setting up and updating the Online Learning Platform, and providing technical and administrative support during course and initiative implementation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \"><u>Primary duties responsibilities<\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<ul>\n<li>Supports course and initiatives planning, organization, implementation, and follow-up activities.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to developing, updating, and managing the Online Learning Platform.<\/li>\n<li>Instructs the facilitators on the online learning tools used for the online courses, such as Zoom for Education and Moodle.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to the research, design, and preparation of modules and learning sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the Coordinators in the design of new courses and updating materials and teaching methodologies for existing ones.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts research and prepares reports, graphic materials\/infographics on the current situation and statistics related to refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless people, and migrants worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the design of PowerPoint, Canva, and other presentation tools.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in managing public information regarding the courses (including online presence and social media visibility).<\/li>\n<li>Follows up with participants during and after the courses, providing feedback on assignments based on pre-defined answer keys or responses to questions posed throughout the workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in opening, closing, and moderating sessions for online and face-to-face courses.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the Admission team of the Institute in their correspondence related to the courses.<\/li>\n<li>Supports in translations needed (e.g., correspondence with participants, course content, broadcasts).<\/li>\n<li>Conducts any other task relevant to the Department\u2019s program as assigned by the coordinators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \"><u>Qualifications, Experience, and Skills<\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \">Required<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<ul>\n<li>University degree in social sciences focusing on Educational Science, Training for Adults, Digital Learning\/Digital Communication, Graphic Design, and\/or Instructional Design.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and French (both verbal and written).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in organizing online courses and in-person events.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of online learning tools and digital communications platforms, such as Canva, Moodle, Zoom for Education, and Articulate 360.<\/li>\n<li>Strong skills and experience in graphic design.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organization and communication (written and oral) skills.<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to set schedules, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work as part of a team in an international environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pix-el-text slide-in-container w-100 \">\n<p class=\"text-18 text-body-default \">Desirable<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in digital content creation, including photography, videography, graphic design, and editing.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of other UN languages, such as Arabic, Spanish, and Russian.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in instructional design of learning programs and teaching methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Background or lived experience on forced displacement or statelessness.<\/li>\n<li>Motivation and passion for working in an organization supporting the protection of refugees, internally displaced people, stateless persons, and migrants.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working directly with people needing protection and groups with specific
