The Lifelong Learning Program (LLeaP) is excited to offer lectures and workshops in these new Future EDge classrooms on Carleton University’s main campus. We are proud to be part of Carleton’s Future EDge Talent Ecosystem, an innovative initiative that offers a variety of in-class, online and experiential opportunities. Its human-centered programs deliver diverse opportunities for learning and growth designed to enhance employability, career resilience and community engagement. Visit Future EDge’s program webpage for details.
Our offerings in this new location can be found on our lectures and workshops webpages for each session. Click on the red arrows in the FAQ headings below, for important information about transportation and parking.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Will there be parking? Is there a parking fee?
- All parking on campus is first-come, first-served.
- Participants who have registered in LLeaP events will receive (via email) a link and code for an online payment form.
- Using this link and code, registered participants must pay for their own parking online each week, either before arriving to campus or on their own mobile device once on campus.
- This link and code enables the discounted rate of $6.35 per week, for the dates and times of the lectures/workshops only (with some buffer time before and after each event), and for the P18 Parking Garage and the P7 lot only.
- There is no need to print a parking pass. Completing the form puts participants’ license plate into an online system for Parking Services staff.
- If no parking spots are available in P18, participants can leave the parking garage and return over the small bridge to park in P7, the large open air lot immediately to the east of the parking garage. The same parking deal will apply for registrants who fill out the parking form and pay online.
- Participants who are unable to pay each week using our online form will have to pay the regular rate at one of the parking payment machines or through the Hotspot Mobile App.
- General parking information visitor information, plus information about Carleton’s Parking HotSpot Mobile App (and its benefits) is available here: https://carleton.ca/parking/visitors/
- A detailed list of all visitor parking rates is on the university’s Parking webpage: https://carleton.ca/parking/visitors/parking-rates/
- A Campus Map with available parking lots on the map is here: https://carleton.ca/campus/wp-content/uploads/map.pdf.
- Parking lots available to the public will have a dollar sign ($) next to the parking lot number. Note that some parking lots are designated for permit holders only and are not available to the public.
- The most practical parking solution is the large parking garage (P18) at the north end of campus, or its overflow lot to the east, P7. There may be some spots in P2 (circled in the map below) or in front of the Residence Commons building (CO on the map), but this cannot be guaranteed.
- Please note that campus now has a number of one-way roads; if you first visit P2 and find there are no spots, you will need to circle campus to return to the P18 parking garage.
- We suggest arriving on campus early, to be able to find a desirable parking spot.
- Accessibility: Registered LLeaP participants with a province-issued Accessible Parking Permit (APP) should contact LLeaP staff for further details about which lots and accessible spots they can use (the APP will not be accepted everywhere on campus). LLeaP staff can then provide the link to a special form to use for discounted parking each week. We suggest arriving early to secure a desirable parking spot.
