I received a double major degree in Psychology and Mass Communication at Carleton University. I completed my M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology at Carleton University under the supervision of Dr. Jo-Anne LeFevre.
Broadly, I am interested in children’s cognitive development. My research primarily focuses on children’s numerical knowledge. My core research is organized around three main themes: a) the developmental trajectories of number integration (i.e., a process of combining subsets of number associations to construct a higher-level understanding of number), b) developmental trajectories of children’s acquisition of math and language skills in their first language versus second language in early grades of elementary school, and c) cross-cultural comparisons of children’s home numeracy experiences.
