Why did you choose this particular language?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I had a wonderful experience meeting with the Head of the Japanese Language Department when selecting my minor. Due to the assistance and welcome I received in a stressful time, I became motivated to study the Japanese language and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Learning Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was very lucky to receive a wholesome and immersive experience with the Japanese Language courses – from traditional art presentations to cooking workshops, there were various support lessons available to us as we navigated the various written and spoken aspects of the language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where I distinctly remember being astounded at how respectful the language was, no matter the situation, I also remember the struggle and stressful extra hours I had to take to learn the Chinese character system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you travel to another country as part of your university experience?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes. The opportunity to study in Japan was truly life changing. I assimilated to a whole new way of behaviour and speaking – a depth to understanding the language and culture that would have taken decades in a foreign country. I would recommend it without hesitation. If you are self-motivated, open to testing your limits outside your comfort zone, and an aspiring traveler\/ adventurer – this is the program for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why study a second or additional language?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We all live in a time of high multi-culturalism, from society to the work place. It is in our best interest to have an additional language under our belt as we navigate through it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your personal experience of studying a language at university<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I grew exponentially personally over the course of my learning experience. I met amazing role models and found life-altering opportunities.
