My mother tongue is Mandarin Chinese but I do not have many opportunities to speak it as I have no family or Chinese friends in Ottawa. However, I travel to China every few years to refresh my Mandarin and reading and writing skills. I recently returned from a 2 month stay in Shanghai where I studied Mandarin while I was there. I am now volunteering as a helper in the CHIN 2010 course and also as a conversation group organizer.

As a retired social worker and as an alumni of Carleton University, I enjoy helping others. I am now interested in helping students improve their Chinese language skills. My oral and listening skills are fairly good but I am also working on improving my reading and writing skills.

Come for a casual conversation and practice your Mandarin on Tuesday afternoons at 2-3 p.m. in room 337 at St. Patrick’s. Hope to chat with you soon!

[93,60

post-3084","cu_people","type-cu_people","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cu_people_type-conversation-group-organizer","cu_people_type-mandarin-chinese-conversation
["GET
