My name is Shamira, and I\u2019m currently in my second year of Global & International Studies with a specialization in Global Law & Social Justice. As a BGInS student, I decided to take Spanish for my language requirement because I\u2019ve always loved the flow of the language and wanted to learn how to speak it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout my life, I\u2019ve always had a strong passion for travelling and exploring different countries and cultures, as I really enjoy learning more about diverse cultural traditions and perspectives. From a young age, Hispanic culture has especially intrigued me, so when I had the opportunity I definitely wanted to try and learn to speak the beautiful language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do you think it\u2019s important to study a language?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pushing myself to learn a new language has been a great learning experience for me, as it\u2019s been challenging but rewarding! Being able to speak a language I\u2019ve always admired, while meeting other students who are eager to learn for similar-or completely different-reasons has made my experience really enjoyable. I think it could be a meaningful opportunity for anyone thinking about giving it a try! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any surprises?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
