“Congratulations to Dylan Grymonpre” who was the recipient of the 2017 International Society of Air Safety Investigators – Rudolf Kapustin Memorial Scholarship.  The aim of this scholarship is to support and promote a new generation of dedicated aviation safety professionals. This award includes sponsorship to attend and present at the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) Annual Seminar, as well as access to multiple educational opportunities with leading edge academic institutions. The 2017 ISASI Seminar will be held this August in San Diego, California. The conference theme is “Investigations—Do They Really Make A Difference?”.

The ISASI Rudolf Kapustin Memorial Scholarship honors late ISASI members whose contributions have advanced the goals of ISASI as follows:

The promotion of air safety by the exchange of ideas, experiences and information about aircraft accident investigations;

  • The advancement of flight safety;
  • The promotion of technical advancement by providing professional education through lectures, displays and presentations and by the exchange of information for mutual development of improved investigations;
  • The broadening of professional relationships among members; and,
  • The maintenance and expansion of the prestige, standing and influence of the Air Safety Investigator in matters of air safety.

ISASI affiliated national societies are located in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, Korea, Latin America, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia and the United States.

    This is a well deserved recognition to a licensed commercial pilot who has a lived experience of flight safety risks and has gained exceptional aeronautical engineering expertise through Carleton University. Congratulations Dylan and a BIG thank you to Carleton University!
