What can I do before reaching out for help from a MAE Academic Advisor?<\/td>\u2022 Use the Faculty of Engineering and Design (FED) planning tool for the coming academic terms
\u2022 Carefully consult your program progression tree to understand what courses are required and the pre-requisite requirements
\u2022 Carefully consult your audit to view the courses you have successfully completed and the courses you are currently registered in.<\/td><\/tr>
How do I read the progression tree?<\/td>\u2022 Broken down by year
\u2022 Solid arrows leading to a course means that you have to complete the course before you can register in that one (pre-requisite)
\u2022 Dashed arrows mean you need to take the course at least at the same time (concurrent)
\u2022 The small number of above a course means that you have to have that \u201cyear standing\u201d to take the course. Year Standing Information<\/a><\/em><\/td><\/tr>
What can I expect as a response?  <\/td>\u2022 Your form and your audit will be forwarded to the Academic Advisor for your program.

What do I do when I meet with an Advisor?<\/td>\u2022 Carefully review your audit and progression tree to prepare for the meeting

\u2022 Follow up with the Advisor if you\u2019re asked to<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Things to Know<\/strong>
\u2022 Academic Advisors are professors, and they are very busy! They are happy to help but also expect that you \u201cdo your homework\u201d before reaching out. During busy periods of the term, such as the weeks leading up to the registration deadlines and the withdrawal deadlines, there may be additional wait times so please take this into consideration when making your academic plans.
