Mohamad is an Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Carleton University<\/a> (Canada). Previously, Mohamad was a Research Associate and Science Lead at the Alan Turing Institute<\/a>, where he contributed to the AI for Numerical Weather Prediction (AI4NWP) programme. Mohamad also held positions at the University of Toronto, Department of Statistical Sciences<\/a> as an NSERC postdoctoral fellow and as a postdoctoral fellow at HEC Montr\u00e9al<\/a> Department of Decision Sciences and Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute (MILA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mohamad earned a PhD in Statistics from McGill University<\/a>, under David Stephens, with research focusing on statistical network analysis and graphical models. His expertise lies at the intersection of statistical theory and computation, machine learning, and network analysis.<\/p>\n

In addition to academic roles, he has significant industry experience, including as a Data Scientist at Lyft<\/a>, where he led initiatives to improve traffic prediction models. He collaborated with the Nuclear Agency of Canada<\/a> to support the development of a Bayesian computational model to measure the variability of system trips within a CANDU nuclear reactor.
