Indira Gandhi Memorial Fellowship<\/a><\/dt>

Description:<\/strong><\/td>\nTwo fellowships to the value of $10,000 each were established in 1985 by friends of India to honour the memory of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, 1966-1977 and 1980-1984. Awarded annually to two outstanding (preferably Visa) students enrolled in graduate programs. No application is required for these fellowships. The recipients will be chosen by an awards committee chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs from candidates recommended by departments, schools, and institutes having graduate programs. Dewan Chand and Ratna Devi Marwah Memorial Scholarship in Mathematics and Statistics<\/a><\/dt>

Description:<\/strong><\/td>\nThese scholarships, valued at $1,500 each, were endowed in 1984 by Professor Kanta Marwah of the Department of Economics in honour and memory of her parents. It will be awarded annually to the most outstanding and deserving graduate students within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, preferably to one doctoral candidate in Mathematics and one in Statistics who, have successfully completed all course and comprehensive requirements, and are undertaking completion of a dissertation.
\nNo application is required. The recipient will be selected by the Scholarship Committee, composed of the Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, and Professor Kanta Marwah or her designate. The recipient of the award will be announced by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs in September each year. In a given year, the award may not be made for lack of a suitable candidate.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Recipients must also demonstrate financial need. Eligible students are those who have demonstrated excellence in the study of Photonics, Math, or Physics.
