Paul R. Beesack Memorial Scholarship<\/a><\/dt>


\nThe Paul R. Beesack Memorial Scholarship and book prize is awarded annually to the student, continuing to the second year of an honours programme in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, with the highest combined standing in the required full credit mathematics courses of first year. Endowed in l986 by the family, friends and academic colleagues of the late Paul R. Beesack, an outstanding analyst, who served this University, his department and his discipline with excellence.

Douglas K. Dale Scholarship in Statistics<\/a><\/dt>


\nAwarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of Mathematics and Statistics, to an outstanding student in the B.Math. Honours program in statistics, proceeding from one year to another. Endowed in 2001 by the family, friends and academic colleagues of the late Douglas K. Dale, a professor of statistics and chairman of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for many years.

Richard J. Semple Memorial Award<\/a><\/dt>


\nThe Richard J. Semple Memorial Award is awarded annually to an outstanding student enrolled in an Honours Mathematics programme and proceeding to third or fourth year of studies at Carleton University.
\nDonors: Friends and family of the late Richard J. Semple. Endowed in 1977 in memory of Richard J. Semple, a long-time faculty member of the Department of Mathematics.

Helga H. Schirmer Scholarship in Mathematics<\/a><\/dt>


\nAwarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, to outstanding students entering or proceeding from one year to another who have demonstrated excellence in the study of Mathematics. Endowed in 2001 by the friends, academic colleagues and the estate of Helga H. Schirmer, an outstanding topologist who was a member of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for many years.

L.N. Wadlin Scholarship<\/a><\/dt>


\nThe L.N. Wadlin Scholarship is awarded annually to a student proceeding from one year to another at Carleton University who has shown excellence in the study of mathematics.

Cyril G. Rodrigues Scholarship in Probability & Statistics<\/a><\/dt>

Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Mathematics and Statistics to\u00a0outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Mathematics who demonstrate an interest in Probability and Statistics. Endowed in 2021 by Cyril G. Rodrigues, MSC\/76, PhD\/81.<\/span>

Scholarship for Statistics or Biostatistics Students<\/a><\/dt>


\nValue $1,000.\u00a0 Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Mathematics and Statistics to an outstanding undergraduate student enrolled in a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Statistics and or Biostatistics.\u00a0Established in 2021 through a gift in honour of Professor Shirley Mills for her services as Co-chair of the Virtual Organization Committee for the 48th SSC Annual Meeting.
