We will be discussing quantum mechanics, elementary particles, and dark matter. Carleton University has a strong research group in Particle Physics, and we tapped into their expertise when designing this course. Carleton&#8217;s physicists contributed to building detectors at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Large_Hadron_Collider\">Large Hadron Collider<\/a> at CERN (Geneva) and participated in experiments leading to the discovery of the Higgs boson. Carleton&#8217;s team also played an important role at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sudbury_Neutrino_Observatory\">Sudbury Neutrino Observatory<\/a>.
