MATHEMA Course – Part I – Grade 9 & Exceptional Grade 8\u00a0Students<\/h4>\n

This course is devoted to 3 subjects: Algebra, Computer Science and Physics.<\/p>\n

In the Computer Science component we will discuss algorithms and mathematical modeling. The Physics component will focus on kinematics, dynamics, conservation laws, electricity, thermodynamics, optics, and magnetism.<\/p>\n

This course consists of 2 parts:<\/p>\n

MATHEMA I
\nMATHEMA II<\/strong><\/p>\n

These courses will NOT be offered in 2018\/19.<\/strong> We are replacing these courses with new streams of Physics and Computer Science courses.<\/p>\n

In 2017\/18 we will offer the MATHEMA II course only.<\/strong>
\nThe course will run from September 16, 2017\u00a0to May 2018, Saturday from 9:00 a.m.\u00a0– 12:00 p.m. (break in December) in the School of Mathematics and Statistics – Macphail Seminar room, room 4351 Herzberg Laboratories.<\/p>\n

Registration Information<\/strong><\/p>\n

Registration is restricted to students who successfully completed MATHEMA I.<\/p>\n

\nFor students with limited financial resources some fee adjustment may be available.

Refund Policy<\/strong><\/h4>\n

100% refund prior to September 30th
\n75% refund prior to October 31st
\n50% refund prior to November 30th<\/p>\n

To request refund, please send an e-mail to\u00a0enrichment-admin@math.carleton.ca<\/a>\u00a0before the deadline. Please indicate student name, course name, mailing address and “Payable to” name for the cheque.<\/p>\n
