Abstract:\u00a0 <\/strong>In the study of decision-making patterns by individuals, such as the Iowa gambling\u00a0task (IGT) process, there are several competing models suitable for\u00a0describing a\u00a0participant or group of individuals. Selecting a single best overall model typically\u00a0comes at the cost of misallocating some individuals for the\u00a0sake of the population.\u00a0The calibration of the models requires re-running these models several times whenever\u00a0an individual or set of individuals are moved or reshuffled among\u00a0these models.\u00a0Usually, there is a fixed computational budget, and can only afford to run each model\u00a0once. An individualized model selection strategy that\u00a0uses the Bayesian information\u00a0criterion (BIC) is proposed. The method is computationally efficient and easy to\u00a0implement to allocate the subjects to these\u00a0competing models.
