\"\"CANSSI Ontario will be hosting an upcoming lecture by University of Pennsylvania Professor\u00a0Eric J. Tchetgen Tchetgen<\/a>, who will be delivering the annual\u00a0Distinguished Lecture in Statistical Sciences<\/a>\u00a0(DLSS) in Toronto on May 9 and 10, 2023. The DLSS will be broadcast live via ZOOM for those who cannot attend in person and recorded and posted to the CANSSI Ontario YouTube channel at a later date.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0DLSS<\/a>\u00a0has been running for more than 20 years, and it is one of the most significant lectures of its kind in Canada. The lecture brings an internationally renowned statistics\/data scientist to Ontario to discuss their research. DLSS speakers are selected by a committee of six faculty members in statistics\/data sciences at Ontario\u2019s universities, including Carleton University. This lecture is an excellent opportunity to showcase your Department’s efforts in advancing the fields of statistics and data sciences in Ontario, and we believe it will interest many faculty and students at Carleton University.<\/p>\n

Professor Tchetgen Tchetgen is one of five inaugural winners of the 2022\u00a0Rousseeuw Prize for Statistics<\/a>. The award was conferred for \u201ctheir pioneering work on Causal Inference with applications in Medicine and Public Health.\u201d<\/p>\n
