Submit an MCP course proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Course Applications are now Closed.<\/p>\n<p>Tips and tricks for submitting a successful proposal<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul data-start=\"108\" data-end=\"1138\">\n<li data-start=\"108\" data-end=\"273\">\n<p data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"273\"><strong data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"153\">Consult your department head\/supervisor<\/strong>: Discuss time commitment, gather course ideas, and learn about available resources (materials, funding, connections).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"415\">\n<p data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"415\"><strong data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"308\">Create a strong course title<\/strong>: Make it captivating, relevant, and appealing to Grades 8-11; the title is what drives student interest.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"638\">\n<p data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"638\"><strong data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"579\">Consider teaching support<\/strong>: Partner with a co-instructor or invite guest lecturers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"747\">\n<p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"747\"><strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"672\">Provide a backup instructor<\/strong>: Back-up instructors are required, your course won&#8217;t be selected without one.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"861\">\n<p data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"861\"><strong data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"782\">Use undergraduate volunteers<\/strong>: They can assist in various ways and earn Co-Curricular Record (CCR) credit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1138\">\n<p data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1138\"><strong data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1013\">Plan your classroom needs<\/strong>: Instructors are responsible for booking department-specific rooms; MCP assigns general rooms, with computer labs given on a first-come basis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apply to teach an MCP course The Mini-Courses Program (MCP) provides students from grades 8 to 11 with the chance to experience Carleton University for a one-week enriched learning experience.
