MDS is seeking a qualified contract instructor for the 2018-19 academic session for
MGDS 2000 [0.5 credit], Migration and Diaspora Studies
Introduction to the social, cultural, economic and political implications of the movement of people with a multidisciplinary and multiscale approach to topics such as migration and immigration, diaspora identities, global culture, and transnationalism. Introduction to basic research and academic writing skills.
Candidates should hold an MA, and be a candidate for or hold a PhD. Their research should address such intertwined issues as refugee movements, migration, mobility, and/or diasporas. Teaching experience, preferably in Migration and Diaspora Studies or a related field, is required. A record of publications in some aspect of Migration and Diaspora Studies will be an advantage.
As per Article 15.3 of the current CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, applicants are required to submit an up to date CV, including a complete listing of all courses taught within the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 bargaining unit at Carleton University, and a Contract Instructor Application Form.
