Migration Research in the Age of Messy Politics<\/strong> is an inter-disciplinary workshop that brings together scholars from MDS and the Migration Research Collective-Collectif de Recherche sur les Migrations (MRC \u2013 CRM) for a public discussion of researching migration issues in an era of polarized tensions and fractious political debate. Working through the question of \u201cHow does political discourse shape research agendas and programs?\u201d, researchers from the fields of geography, history, political science, philosophy and law will share insights from their own research projects while reflecting on how to engage with shifting mainstream politics in Canada, the United States and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the workshop is to document the impact of politicized discourses on migration research and develop strategies for addressing this phenomenon. The workshop is open to all but registration is required to ensure access to pre-circulated papers. Please rsvp<\/strong> at: migrationresearch@gmail.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
