To serve their needs,<br>\ntimely information on these refugees is essential for NGOs, service agencies, and<br>\ngovernments. While data gathered through surveys is a key source of such information,<br>\nsampling refugees, especially those who recently arrived in a country, is a crucial<br>\nchallenge. Against this background, this talk discusses the use of targeted social media<br>\nadvertisements on Facebook and Instagram to sample and survey people who fled from<br>\nUkrainian to Germany and Poland in early 2022. For this study, data on approximately<br>\n1,200 people displaced from Ukraine was collected during the second half of April 2022,<br>\ni.e., within two months after the beginning of this new phase in the war in Ukraine.
