This may be a good opportunity to indicate the province the desired skills and abilities that this executive position must have. Particularly considering that this role may entail, in a near future, guiding the province in matters such as immigration policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback generated will be used to develop the mandate and help decide how the Chief Science Officer will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help the government make decisions on science-based policy issues by relying on evidence and research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accelerate Ontario&#8217;s science and research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop the long-term vision and strategic research agenda for Ontario to help address challenges and reach scientific frontiers in Canada and around the world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cement Ontario&#8217;s reputation as a jurisdiction that believes investing in knowledge and science is the key to success and prosperity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>People can share their feedback online at <a href=\"http:\/\/ontario.ca\/chiefscienceofficer\" target=\"_blank\">Ontario.ca\/ChiefScienceOfficer<\/a> or via <a href=\"mailto:OntarioCSOadvice@Ontario.ca\" target=\"_blank\">email<\/a> by March 27, 2017.
