However, these so-called solutions have been critiqued by scholars and practitioners alike for being deeply inadequate for meeting the needs of the vast majority of displaced communities and for not addressing the drivers and trends of forced displacement. Thus, we invite submissions that engage and discuss strategies that are contextually specific<br>\nto the historical, geographical, and structural explanations that characterize displacement. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The purpose of this conference is:<br>\n1. To critically interrogate the language, frames, and responses contained within the three durable solutions.<br>\n2. To consider ways in which praxis can move away from and beyond current framings of durable solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle3\"><br>\n<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Submission Criteria<\/strong><br>\n<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">A wide-range of submission platforms will be considered, in addition to a conventional academic paper<br>\nformats, including story-telling, spoken word, photos, poetry, media, artwork, theatrical productions, and<br>\nliterary pieces reflecting on the following broad themes:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Framings\/discourses of Convention refugees and associated \u2018solutions\u2019?<br><br><\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Ways to move beyond the existing \u2018durable solutions\u2019? What are other ways to respond to forced displacement? How do people on the move seek their own security and \u2018solutions\u2019?<br><br><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The experiences of communities impacted by forced displacement who do not fit into Convention refugee definitions, including environmental migrants, internally displaced populations, \u2018economic\u2019 migrants, Indigenous communities, development-induced displacement, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Intersectionality as a framework to analyze the connections of colonialism and displacement<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Lived experiences of displaced people beyond \u2018durable solutions\u2019&#8211; what happens before and\/or<br><br>after resettlement, local integration, or repatriation, and how do these experiences challenge<br><br>official discourse on \u2018solutions\u2019? What challenges exist in accessing formal \u2018solutions\u2019?
