The 6th Ruppin International Conference on Immigration and Social Integration: Migration and Diasporas

Call-for-papers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the global era, the concept \u201cdiaspora\u201d in migration movements has become a major topic of interest for social scientists. The 2020 Ruppin International Conference will focus on the relationships between the diaspora, the homeland, and the host society. We invite researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to submit papers on the economic, social, and psychological implications of the complex relationships between immigrants and the diaspora and between immigrants and the host society, whether at the individual, local, or state level world wide. Similar to other countries, the State of Israel is heavily engaged in fostering relations with the global Jewish and Israeli diaspora. The Israeli experience will be discussed and evaluated within a comparative global framework. Throughout the conference, challenges posed by the relationships between immigrants, the diaspora, the homeland, and the host society will be addressed and discussed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Institute for Immigration and Social Integration<\/a> at Ruppin Academic Center, in cooperation with the Association for Canadian Studies (ACS)<\/a> and the International Metropolis Project<\/a>, invites proposals on a broad range of themes related to diaspora and migration. We welcome proposals from academics, field experts, and policy makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we invite proposals in three optional paths:
\n1. Paper presentation in a session
\n2. Active participation in a workshop: ALF – Active Learning Forum
\n3. Organizing a workshop (ALF)
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposals should be sent by November 10, 2019 <\/strong>to <\/strong>migration.ruppinconference@gmail.com<\/a>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposals will be evaluated by an International Academic Committee chaired by Prof. Moshe Semyonov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acceptance decisions and detailed information about registration, accommodations and travel arrangements will be sent by December 10, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to submit a paper to a special issue of
\nHagira<\/strong>, an academic, refereed, interdisciplinary journal focusing on all aspects of migration.
\nPapers may be submitted in Hebrew or English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
