Metropolis<\/a> organized another successful professional development session between Dec. 8-13, 2014 in Ottawa. A networking reception and public lecture with Mr. Bela Hovy, Chief of Migration, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) was held on  Monday December 8, 2014 6pm \u2013 8:30pm at the Novotel Hotel in Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The instructors for this session were Daniel Cerv\u00e1n-Gil<\/strong> Senior Project Director, Metropolis Professional Development. Canada.  Dr. Howard Duncan<\/strong>, Executive Head, Metropolis, Canada. Ms. Jaime Enachescu, <\/strong>Program Manager, United Way of Calgary and Coordinator at Calgary Local Immigration Partnership, Canada. Chris Gregory<\/strong>, Director, Identity Management and Information Sharing Admissibility Branch at Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Ms. Sandra Harder<\/strong>, Former Director General in Strategic Policy and Planning, Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Dr.<\/strong> Jenna Hennebry,<\/strong> Director of the International Migration Research Centre, Wilfred Laurier University, Canada. Dr. Daniel Hiebert<\/strong>, Professor of Social and Cultural Geography, University of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Graeme Hugo<\/strong>, Professor of Geography and Director of the Australian Population and Migration Research Centre, University of Adelaide, Australia. Mr. <\/strong>\u00dc<\/strong>mit Kiziltan<\/strong>, Director General of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Research and Evaluation Branch. Dr. Will Kymlicka<\/strong>, Canada Research Chair in Political Philosophy, Queen\u2019s University, Canada. Ms. Tiffany Lightbourn,<\/strong> Chief of Research & Evaluation, Office of Policy and Strategy USCIS \u2013 Department of Homeland Security Ms. Ratna Omidvar<\/strong>, Executive Director, Global Diversity Exchange (GDX), Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University Mr. John Oucho<\/strong>, professor of population studies in the University of Nairobi. Mr. Peter Schatzer<\/strong>, Ambassador, Permanent Observer to the United Nations and other international Organizations in Vienna, Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and Senior Adviser to the Director General, International Organization for Migration (IOM) Dr. Arthur Sweetman<\/strong>, Professor of Economics at McMaster University, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
