Why did you want to become a mentor?
The first year of university usually consists of mixed emotions and can be overwhelming. There is excitement, anxiety, fear and hope even. Having experienced this myself I know I can contribute to something important. I want to become a mentor because I would like to give back and help others find their voice amidst all the noise; to cultivate a sense of self grounded in values such as community and belonging.
What is one thing you wished you knew in your first year?
I wish I knew that failing doesn’t mean I am a failure and that its okay to ask for help when you need it.
