Why did you want to become a mentor?
I wanted to become a mentor because I wanted to be able to share the knowledge that I have gained as a mentee, mentor and senior peer mentor as well as the experiences that I have gained through my time at Carleton. After experiencing what it was like to be an FYC mentor and senior peer mentor, it has made me want to continue this role for the following school year. This is because I felt like I was making an impact by helping these students make a smooth transition into their first year at Carleton by facilitating meaningful conversations and answering any questions/quarries.
What is one thing you wished you knew in your first year?
I wish I knew how majors and minors worked.
