Why I’m a mentor:
I became a mentor because I want to be able to help first-year students with the transition from high school into university. It is a significant milestone, and I would love to make everyone’s transition experience easy and exciting by making them feel welcome and included in the community Carleton has to offer!
Something I wished I knew in my first year…
I wish I knew about this mentorship program when I was a first-year student. Coming to a new school a few hours away from home without and any friends is a scary thing to experience alone, I wish I heard about this program then so I could have had that extra support.
