Why I’m a mentor:
I want to help other students with any questions they may have. I have had mentors in the past and I feel they have helped me so much to guide me in case I need it. Being a mentor will allow me to also learn from others. I believe that a mentoring relationship is all about mutual growth.
Something I wished I knew in my first year…
I wish I knew how to get more involved in research at the university (no matter which program you are in, the are usually are so many projects going on) and the importance of reaching out to professors to get a sense of what they do and what their research is about.
