+ Metropolis Professional Development is a project of Metropolis and, as such, it’s a non-profit programme that operates on a cost-recovery basis (course fees are used to pay materials, facilities, meals, instructors and staff). In order to enable the participation of professionals from all sectors, MPD offers discounted rates to certain groups.
++ Rates include tuition fees, meals (two coffee breaks per day, six lunches and two dinners), shuttles and materials.
* See calendar section for dates.
** Following the World Bank definition, civil society organizations (CSOs) refer to: community groups, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), labor unions, indigenous groups, charitable organizations, faith-based organizations, professional associations, and foundations. To benefit from the discounted rate, applicants must submit letter from their organization including proof of registration in the country of operation. Canadian CSOs need to submit proof of incorporation under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act.
*** Rates include full registration to the conference and side events (USD 1,000 value).
If you must cancel your registration, please send us an email at email@example.com.
If you cancel your registration within 24 hours of having submitted your payment, your payment will be fully refunded, minus a $100 administrative fee.
If you cancel your registration later than 24 hours after submitting your payment, you will be entitled to a refund of either 50% or 20%, depending on the length of the delay in notifying us of your cancellation. Please visit our calendar section for deadlines for refunds based upon cancellations.
If you have been denied a visa to enter Canada or other countries where the MPD training is to take place, registration fees paid to Metropolis may be refundable. To be eligible for a refund, you must submit a copy of the official Visa Denial issued to you by the Embassy within 60 days of your training session start date. Please send the copy of the Visa Denial to the Metropolis Secretariat, Carleton University, 1114 Dunton Tower, K1S 5B6 Ottawa, Canada. A $300 administrative fee will be deducted from the total amount refunded. The processing time is approximately 4 – 6 weeks after we receive the official Visa Denial.
