Sarah Hurnard – Project Manager
Sarah is currently a graduate student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, specializing in International Economic Policy. This is Sarah’s second year as part of the Model NATO Secretariat, and she has also worked with Model UN conferences throughout her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta and has participated in conferences as a delegate as well.
Sarah and the rest of the executive team are working hard to transition this year’s conference online while maintaining the Carleton Model NATO experience. She is excited to welcome everyone to Carleton Model NATO in this new format in February 2021!
Emilie Macfie – Deputy Project Manager
Emilie is currently a graduate student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, specializing in International Organizations and Global Public Policy. While this is Emilie’s first time as part of a Model NATO, she worked with a Model UN conference during her undergraduate degree at McGill University and spent two years planning model parliaments for students of all ages at the Senate of Canada.
As Deputy Project Manager, Emilie is responsible for the logistics of the conference and also serves as the Chief of Staff. She is excited to be part of the Secretariat and help create the first-ever virtual Carleton Model NATO!
Delaram Arabi – Secretary General
Delaram is currently a second year graduate student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, specializing in International Economic Policy. She holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto with a focus on post-conflict statebuilding.
This is Delaram’s first time as part of a Model NATO and she’s looking forward to being involved as Secretary General at its first virtual iteration.
Ajit Kalsi – Crisis Director
Ajit is an MA candidate at the Norman Paterson School of International Relations at Carleton University, specializing in Security and Defence Policy. He has participated in, staffed, and organized various Model United Nations conferences for several years.
Ajit is looking forward to helping organize the conference through the pandemic.
