{"id":14078,"date":"2017-06-05T07:38:21","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T11:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mobileservices\/?p=14078"},"modified":"2017-06-19T14:52:18","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T18:52:18","slug":"new-rogers-voice-data-plan-starting-on-july-1-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mobileservices\/2017\/new-rogers-voice-data-plan-starting-on-july-1-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"New Rogers Voice &#038; Data Plan starting on July 1, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carleton has contracted with Rogers to provide mobile phone services for faculty and staff business use!\u00a0 <strong>This plan only applies to devices that are paid for by University funds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Benefits of this new VOR (Vendor of Record) include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discount pricing through standardized plans, and<\/li>\n<li>enhanced service support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ultimately, this will result in substantial savings.<\/p>\n<h2>New Pricing<\/h2>\n<p>Most people are currently paying $30.00 a month for 5 gigabytes of data (plus overage charges if the device exceeds the 5 gigabyte limit).<\/p>\n<h3>Flexible pricing based on data use<\/h3>\n<p>With the new Flex option, data service is now tiered every billing month as shown below. \u00a0Charges are based on how much data you use.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$15.25 \u2013 up to 300 Megabytes<\/li>\n<li>$30.00 \u2013 Up to 1 Gigabyte<\/li>\n<li>$45.00 \u2013 Up to 6 Gigabyte<\/li>\n<li>$50.00 \u2013 Unlimited<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With this tiered model, the University is protected against overage fees if any device(s) exceed the allotted 6 gigabyte data limit.<\/p>\n<h2>More Features for Less<\/h2>\n<p>The VOR agreement with Rogers includes the following features for $8 per month. (Compared to the current $20 a month for limited local calling).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlimited local calling<\/li>\n<li>Unlimited text messages &amp; MMS<\/li>\n<li>Call display<\/li>\n<li>Call forwarding<\/li>\n<li>Call waiting<\/li>\n<li>Conference calling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Long Distance Improved<\/h2>\n<p>The VOR agreement also provides long distance plans for Canada and the United States.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calls within Canada: <\/strong><br \/>\n$0.02 per minute<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canadian long distance packages:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Unlimited minutes for $6.25 \/ month<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calls to the US from Canada:<\/strong><br \/>\n$0.15 per minute<\/p>\n<p><strong>US Long Distance Packages<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 minutes for $5<\/li>\n<li>125 minutes for $10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>International Calls<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rogers.com\/web\/content\/add-ons?ipn=1#\/longdistance\">Rogers website <\/a>for details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These plans may be purchased as separate optional items.<\/p>\n<h2>What do I have to do?<\/h2>\n<p>Nothing!\u00a0 You will be automatically transferred to the new plan on July 1st.<\/p>\n<p>For more details check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mobileservices\/faqs\/\">FAQs page<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Questions?
