Food insecurity: Let\u2019s move beyond charity!<\/p>\n

Systemic issues require systemic solutions!<\/p>\n

Come and hear from community groups and researchers who call for systemic social changes and a shift away from food charity approaches to address food insecurity.<\/p>\n

This bilingual pan-Canadian event* will include a roundtable<\/b> featuring four non-profit food groups, each of which combats food insecurity in Canada in its own way. What they share are actions and communication practices that seek to 1) raise awareness about the root causes of food insecurity and thereby reframe our approaches to the issue in Canada; 2) propose systemic and structural solutions that address food insecurity in a more sustainable way.<\/p>\n

This roundtable will be followed by an interdisciplinary<\/b> panel of researchers<\/b> whose work dovetails with the food groups\u2019 actions and propositions.<\/p>\n
