Congratulations go out to MPNL graduate, Christian Robillard, who was awarded the Board of Governors Award at the June 13, 2018 Convocation Ceremony at Carleton:
The Board of Governors Award recognizes exemplary volunteerism involving the not-for-profit sector and, as such, honours non-academic accomplishments during a full-time program of study at Carleton University.
Christian Robillard, B.P.A.P.M., M.P.N.L.
Christian is graduating with a Master’s in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership and already holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialization in Social Policy.
Christian has channelled his passion to champion causes that resonate with him and support those in need. He has been described as being born with a taste for philanthropy and volunteerism and lives by his motto. He truly believes that we can support one another and that, working together, good things happen in our communities.
During his undergraduate and graduate studies at Carleton, Christian served as co-chair of the Carleton Community Campaign that raised over $300,000 per year; led the Student Philanthropy Council; founded and was president of Carleton’s Association of Fundraising Professionals Collegiate Chapter; served as sponsorship and grants co-ordinator for the Carleton University Students’ Association; and sat on the university’s first two Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign committees.
On campus, Christian reached out to student groups, giving leadership and philanthropy talks aimed at empowering fellow students who want to do good.
In the wider community, Christian aided in raising more than a million dollars in total for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Youth Ottawa, and the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club. He also worked with the consulting firm The Sponsorship Collective designing organizational sponsorship strategies.
To top Christian’s sterling philanthropic and volunteer commitments, he has secured a 2018-2019 TD Insurance Fellowship in Advancement which provides practical experience to emerging professionals.
