Rachel Pereira is an independent researcher and an alumna of the MPNL program. She has a BA in French Language & Literature and Linguistics from the University of Alberta, and is a past participant of the Max Bell Foundation’s Public Policy Training Institute.

After several years of working for frontline organizations, she now conducts research and evaluation for a variety of community-based groups, organizations, and foundations. Her interests lie in shifting resources to support community self-determination and exploring how community groups can resist the nonprofit industrial complex.

In her spare time, she reads and writes poetry, rows at her local rowing club and tries to grow things. Rachel is currently based in amiskwacîwâskahikan, also known as Edmonton, on Treaty 6 Territory.
