<\/strong><\/a>Established by Dr. Sharilyn Hale in honour of Simone Joyaux, who had a passion for advanced learning, social justice and governance issues in the nonprofit sector, this award is for outstanding graduate students who register for part-time studies in the MPNL program and who demonstrate volunteer leadership as critical thinkers, change-makers and bridge-builders. Keith and Dorothy Sj\u00f6gren Philanthropy Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>In 2013, the Sj\u00f6grens established this annual award to recognize the importance of arts and culture. It goes to a student working in the cultural or performing arts community in Canada. It recognizes the importance of the cultural sector to the fabric of Canadian society and the ongoing need for leadership within this sector, which is often challenged to raise funds to provide for leadership development. MPNL Alumni Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The award was created by MPNL graduates and championed by the fourth cohort of the program. Once the award reaches $2,000 in donations each year, the amount is matched, dollar for dollar, by Carleton University, resulting in a $4,000 award for an incoming MPNL student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
