Areeba graduated with a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan. Her education has instilled in her a respect for preventive healthcare, including connections between nonprofits\u2019 work and their positive impacts on population health. Even as a full-time student, the empathetic world of community service captured her interest more than anything else. This interest led to her founding and serving as the President of PennyDrops at USaskatchewan, an award-winning chapter of a national student-run nonprofit that delivers financial literacy education to young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s also the Communications Coordinator for The Princess Shop, a Saskatchewan charity that provides graduation dresses, mentorship, scholarships, and more to female-identifying and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. And she\u2019s worked with national charities, such as Let\u2019s Talk Science and The Students Commission of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her work has predominantly focused on community-building as a means to improve people\u2019s health and quality of life. Areeba strongly believes in the responsibility people have towards each other and the power that instills in us to invoke meaningful change. She hopes that the MPNL program will build on her knowledge of nonprofits and leadership, so that she can strengthen and empower the community that shaped her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
