Sayed started as a research assistant with Save the Children in 2002 and was promoted to program officer to improve the well-being of those affected by war. He also managed three national NGO partners and contributed to developing resources and capacity in South and Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2008, Sayed joined the Afghan Ministry of Rural Development to support institutional development and manage the implementation of the UNDP\u2019s National Area-Based Development Program. Later, he advised the Minister of Interior Affairs and Minister of Economy on strategic planning, change and project management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He worked for more than 10 years as Director of Education and research for Sesame Workshop\u2019s Baghche-Simsim project in Afghanistan, managing the project and developing educational content that empowered children and met their cognitive, physical and socio-emotional developmental needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sayed has a BA from the American University of Afghanistan, and WES evaluated his coursework for a Master of International Relations as equivalent to 1.5 years of graduate studies in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He&#8217;s excited about the MPNL program, and looks forward to connecting with nonprofit leaders and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sayed Farhad Hasimi on why he joined the MPNL program, at Carleton University, 2024\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dDoyrdSVDKM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With more than two decades of experience in the development sector, Sayed Farhad Hashimi has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life of individuals and communities.
