Niamh Leonard is a lawyer and leads the Euphrosine Foundation<\/a>, which protects and expands the democratic spaces where people participate in public life and hold power to account. She also serves as Chair of Welcome Collective, an organization that supports refugee claimants in Montr\u00e9al. In recognition of her commitment to equality, she received the Rosalie Silberman Abella Prize from the Royal Society of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a cancer diagnosis in her early thirties, she brings a renewed urgency to her belief in a world that honours the sacredness of life\u2014where each person has a meaningful say in the conditions in which they live, and the freedom to shape their lives with dignity and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niamh Leonard est avocate et dirige la Fondation Euphrosine<\/a>, qui vise \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger et renforcer les espaces d\u00e9mocratiques o\u00f9 les personnes participent et contraignent le pouvoir \u00e0 rendre des comptes. Elle est \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sidente du conseil d\u2019administration du Collectif Bienvenue, un organisme qui soutient les demandeuses et demandeurs d\u2019asile \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. En reconnaissance de son engagement envers l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9, elle a re\u00e7u le Prix Rosalie Silberman Abella de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 royale du Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
