Luciara Nardon is an Associate Professor of International Business at the\u00a0Sprott School of Business<\/a>, and Co-director of the Centre for Research on Inclusion at Work (CRIW<\/a>) at Carleton University. She obtained her PhD in International Management and Strategy at the University of Oregon in 2005.<\/p>\n

Luciara\u2019s research explores cultural and cognitive influences on work in multicultural environments. She is the recipient of a Carleton Research Award (2018) focusing on newcomers\u2019career advancement, a SSHRC Insight Development Grant (2016) focusing on refugee workforce integration, and a SSHRC Knowledge Synthesis Grant (2016) focusing on socio-cognitive influences on technological innovation, adoption and use.<\/p>\n

Her recent research has appeared in the\u00a0Journal of World Business<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0Organizational Dynamics<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0Journal of the Association for Information Systems<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0International Journal of Intercultural Relations<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Journal of Business Ethics<\/a><\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

She is\u00a0the author of\u00a0Working in a Multicultural World<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0(University of Toronto Press, 2017) and the co-author of two books,\u00a0Managing in the Global Economy<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(with Richard M. Steers, Sharpe, 2006), and\u00a0Management Across Cultures<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(with Richard M. Steers and Carlos Sanchez-Runde, Cambridge, 2010, 2013).\u00a0She is a member of the editorial board of the\u00a0Journal of World Business<\/em>.<\/p>\n

She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses focusing on international management in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, and the United States. Prior to her academic career, Luciara worked as a director of control systems and strategic planning for a Portuguese multinational in Brazil.<\/p>\n

She is involved in volunteer activities with the settlement sector in Ottawa, and actively involved in mentoring and coaching newcomers to Canada.<\/p>\n
