The Fellowship invites Turkish scholars to live, research, and teach in Canada&#8217;s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n            <div class=\"cu-textmedia flex flex-col lg:flex-row mx-auto gap-6 md:gap-10 my-6 md:my-12 first:mt-0 max-w-5xl\">\n        <div class=\"justify-start cu-textmedia-content cu-prose-first-last\" style=\"flex: 0 0 100%;\">\n            <header class=\"font-light prose-xl cu-pageheader md:prose-2xl cu-component-updated cu-prose-first-last\">\n                                    <h2 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px text-2xl md:text-3xl lg:text-4xl lg:leading-[3rem] pb-4 after:w-8 text-cu-black-700 not-prose\">\n                        Eligibility\n                    <\/h2>\n                \n                                \n                            <\/header>\n\n                            \n\n<p>Fellows must hold a Ph.D. in political science, international relations, history, sociology, or a related field in social sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research and teaching interests on modern Turkey (post 1923), Turkish politics (including foreign policy) and society, as evidenced by publication and prior teaching experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n            <div class=\"cu-textmedia flex flex-col lg:flex-row mx-auto gap-6 md:gap-10 my-6 md:my-12 first:mt-0 max-w-5xl\">\n        <div class=\"justify-start cu-textmedia-content cu-prose-first-last\" style=\"flex: 0 0 100%;\">\n            <header class=\"font-light prose-xl cu-pageheader md:prose-2xl cu-component-updated cu-prose-first-last\">\n                                    <h2 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px text-2xl md:text-3xl lg:text-4xl lg:leading-[3rem] pb-4 after:w-8 text-cu-black-700 not-prose\">\n                        Duties\n                    <\/h2>\n                \n                                \n                            <\/header>\n\n                            \n\n<p>Fellows, during their appointment, will engage in the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teaching INAF 5409\/PSCI 4809 (0.5 credit) &#8211; Special Topics graduate course during Summer term (July &#8211; August)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver the \u00d6zerdin\u00e7-Grimes Public Lecture for the MTS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meetings and other engagements with Carleton faculty, students, MTS affiliates, and the broader community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00d6zerdin\u00e7-Grimes Fellowship is generously supported by Kathleen Grimes and Ersin \u00d6zerdin\u00e7. A successful business couple, Ersin and Kathleen have always endorsed the Kemalist principles of a democratic T\u00fcrkiye, fully committed to gender equality, freedom of the press and the rule of law.
