Join us for our Connected Culture Carleton Music Masterclass Series featuring Hooshyar Khayam!

Jazz and ethnic music of the Middle East are being constantly exposed to one another in works of new musicians all around the world, and as the result, new works and new ways of thinking are constantly being created out of the two worlds of music together… In this session, we will explore some of these possibilities. We will look together to works of some masters of the past era, and then we will move together to the contemporary scene today, and visit works of artists active, with their influence on modality, on improvisation, and their influence from/and on Jazz!

Hooshyar Khayam is an Iranian-British musician, active as a composer, pianist, teacher and producer. His music is in contemporary classical, fusion/world music, and in music for film and theater.
