Theory Test
Welcome to our Theory and Ear-training Placement Test
Please note that the results of your theory and ear-training placement test will be used for placement purposes only. Our decision to admit you to the B.Mus. program will be based solely on your B.Mus. audition, and your academic record. Your theory placement test results will allow us to place you in an appropriate theory course, according to your level, so that you will be able to register for the appropriate course in advance, and “hit the ground running” when you arrive in September. Being appropriately placed in the theory/ear-training course that best meets your needs is one of the most important factors in making your first-year in the program a happy and successful one.

Before you get started, please read through the following important pointers:
- As soon as your answer to a question has been entered, it will be recorded permanently, and cannot be changed.
- All questions must be answered. Blank answers are not permissible. If you hit the “submit” key without entering an answer, you will be returned to the same question. You will only be allowed to advance to the next question when you have provided an answer. If you do not know an answer, “make an educated guess” in order to proceed with the remainder of the test.
- Once you have logged in, and commenced the test, you must complete all fifty questions in sequence. Do not use the back arrow/button to return to a previous question.
- If for any reason you complete only a portion of the test (or are ejected from the test due to an unforeseen computer or internet problem), you may login again, using your username and password. The software will immediately recommence your test session at the first incomplete answer.
