John has <\/span><span class=\"\">performed in recitals and concerts in Japan, Austria<\/span><span class=\"\">, and throughout Canada<\/span><span class=\"\">. He has played in <\/span><span class=\"\">recital series such as <\/span><span class=\"\">the Ottawa International Chamberfest<\/span><span class=\"\">, <\/span><span class=\"\">Cathedral Arts Series<\/span><span class=\"\">, <\/span><span class=\"\">Jugend am <\/span><span class=\"\">Klavier <\/span><span class=\"\">and <\/span><span class=\"\">Music and Beyond <\/span><span class=\"\">to name a few. John made his orchestral debut with the Gatineau <\/span><span class=\"\">Conservatory Orchestra in a concert playing Mozart&#8217;s Piano Concerto no. 23. Most recently, he <\/span><span class=\"\">performed Tchaikovsky\u2019s Piano Conce<\/span><span class=\"\">rto no. 1 with the Georg<\/span><span class=\"\">ian Bay Symphony<\/span><span class=\"\">. John has also <\/span><span class=\"\">performed for dignitaries <\/span><span class=\"\">such as the former <\/span><span class=\"\">Governor Generals of Canada; Micha\u00eblle <\/span><span class=\"\">Jean and <\/span><span class=\"\">the David Johnston, and <\/span><span class=\"\">numerous <\/span><span class=\"\">Ambassador<\/span><span class=\"\">s <\/span><span class=\"\">to Canada. John\u2019s composed <\/span><span class=\"\">work for string <\/span><span class=\"\">quartet was perform<\/span><span class=\"\">ed with choreography at Ottawa\u2019s National Arts Centre. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"\">Music has taken John on a voyage through many parts of the world. It has brought him to reflect <\/span><span class=\"\">on a range of styles including classi<\/span><span class=\"\">cal, jazz and gospel piano. He <\/span><span class=\"\">began his classical piano <\/span><span class=\"\">studies wi<\/span><span class=\"\">th T<\/span><span class=\"\">abuchi Masako in Muroran, Japan<\/span><span class=\"\">. Upon his family<\/span><span class=\"\">\u2019s relocation to Canada, John <\/span><span class=\"\">continue<\/span><span class=\"\">d <\/span><span class=\"\">his stud<\/span><span class=\"\">ies independently. He then enrolled and <\/span><span class=\"\">obtain<\/span><span class=\"\">ed <\/span><span class=\"\">his Bachelor\u2019s in music at <\/span><span class=\"\">Carleton University. At Carleton, <\/span><span class=\"\">he <\/span><span class=\"\">studied with classical pianists <\/span><span class=\"\">Verna Jaco<\/span><span class=\"\">bson and <\/span><span class=\"\">Nicole <\/span><span class=\"\">Presentey <\/span><span class=\"\">as well as jazz pianists Steve Boudreau and Mark Ferguson<\/span><span class=\"\">. Dapaah pursued the final <\/span><span class=\"\">year of his undergraduate music studies at the Kunstuniversit\u00e4t Graz in Graz, Austria. <\/span><span class=\"\">While in <\/span><span class=\"\">Graz, he studied with Dr. Ei<\/span><span class=\"\">ke Straub. <\/span><span class=\"\">John <\/span><span class=\"\">graduated with high honours from Carleton <\/span><span class=\"\">in 2012<\/span><span class=\"\">. <\/span><span class=\"\">He then obtained his Master\u2019s at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University. At <\/span><span class=\"\">Schulich, he studied with Marina Mdivani, who was a pupil of Emil Gilel<\/span><span class=\"\">s<\/span><span class=\"\">. <\/span><span class=\"\">John has played in <\/span><span class=\"\">master classes <\/span><span class=\"\">for Minsoo <\/span><span class=\"\">Sohnn, Kyoko Hashimoto, and Corlenia Herrmann among others. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"\">John <\/span><span class=\"\">has released 2 albums to date <\/span><span class=\"\">\u2013 <\/span><span class=\"\">his debut solo album<\/span><span class=\"\">, \u201cReflections\u201d <\/span><span class=\"\">and a jazz Christmas <\/span><span class=\"\">album <\/span><span class=\"\">\u201cHave Yourself A Jazzy Little Christmas\u201d <\/span><span class=\"\">with his trio and vocalists Roxanne Goodman <\/span><span class=\"\">and Micha<\/span><span class=\"\">el Curtis Hanna.
