Rogers studied jazz performance (drums) at McEwan University, classical percussion (snare, marimba, timpani) at the University of Alberta, and holds a PhD in Communication Studies from McGill University. She has played and recorded with artists in a range of genres, including folk, rock, funk, jazz, and classical, and served as a band clinician, adjudicator, and project manager for a variety of music organizations, including The Banff Centre and National Arts Centre.
