\n Students are encouraged to familiaize themselves with the graduate calendar<\/a> and listed requirements for the MA degree in Music in Culture\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

MA in Music and Culture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Master\u2019 of Arts in Music and Culture requires the satisfactory completion of a total of 5.0 credits, distributed according to one of the following three program options (students are required to formally apply to the thesis and research essay streams in the MA):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thesis Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.0 credits of required course work (MUSI 5002 and 5003)
2.0 credits of additional course work chosen from available elective courses*
2.0 credits, Thesis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Essay Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.0 credits of required course work (MUSI 5002 and 5003)
3.0 credits of additional course work chosen from available of elective courses*
1.0 credits, Research Essay<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* up to 0.5 credits may be taken outside the program in a related discipline (such as History, Philosophy, Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, etc.) subject to the approval of the Supervisor of Graduate Studies<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coursework program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.0 credits of required course work (MUSI 5002 and 5003)
4.0 credits of additional course work chosen from available of elective courses**<\/p>\n\n\n\n

** up to 1.0 credits may be taken outside the program in a related discipline (such as History, Philosophy, Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, etc.) subject to the approval of the Supervisor of Graduate Studies<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MA in Music and Culture with Collaborative Specializations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Music also offers a program designed to add value to the existing MA in Music and Culture by offering Collaboration Specializations in selected cognate areas. See the following sites for additional information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
