Lyric Theatre Fall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This term the Lyric Theatre Ensemble will utilize repertoire selected from Opera & Operetta (from 19th<\/sup> century operetta including Gilbert & Sullivan through early 20th<\/sup> century including American Operetta) to focus on building your Lyric Theatre skills in the three areas that make up a triple-threat performer: singing, acting, and, to a much smaller extent for our purposes, dancing. Classes will consist of informal group Information Sharing Sessions led by David and Am\u00e9lie, and\/or a guest from the professional performing world, individual coachings & rehearsals, and small and full company ensemble work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auditions: Will take place in September during the first Ensemble Meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyric Theatre Ensemble Winter <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This term the Lyric Theatre Ensemble will focus on Musical Theatre.  Once again, we will be putting together a revue, and we will talk about the theme in the first class. The revue will be made up of scenes including dialogue, solos, duets, and other small ensembles.  There will also be an opening and a closing number that will include everyone.  During the classes everyone will work on singing, acting, and basic dancing \u2013 the three elements required by a triple-threat musical performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone is welcome, but you must audition for placement. After we finish with the admin side of things in the first class, I will be holding a performance class, and everyone will get a chance to sing. \u00a0You will be expected to act and embody your character, but a full blocking of your song will not be necessary.\u00a0 Be aware that I might ask you to switch things up and sing part of your song again with a different characterization.\u00a0 That performance class will be your audition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please bring the sheet music to a musical theatre song you know well and love to perform.  And please be sure that the music is in the right key for your voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
