Applications are typically due in February, and are assessed based on academic record, research aptitude, and the expected quality of the training to be received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students interested in holding an NSERC USRA in the Department of Neuroscience must meet the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Minimum Overall CGPA of 10.0<\/li><li>Have not previously held an NSERC USRA at any institution<\/li><li>In addition to the formal application process <a href=\"https:\/\/science.carleton.ca\/students\/undergraduate-student-summer-research-opportunities\/undergraduate-research-awards-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outlined here on the Faculty of Science&#8217;s website<\/a>, applicants must <em>also <\/em>download and complete this <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/neuroscience\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/95\/NSERC-USRA-Supplemental-Application.docx\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/neuroscience\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/95\/NSERC-USRA-Supplemental-Application.docx\" target=\"_blank\">supplementary application <\/a>and email it to <a href=\"mailto:neuroscience@carleton.ca\">neuroscience@carleton.ca<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All components of the application are to be submitted by the award deadline.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) provide financial support to undergraduate students while they gain research work experience that complements their studies within an academic setting.
